Nordic white ash logged in North America offers an interesting knot-free wood structure. Ecological, durable and dimensionally stable wood. Ash thermowood is especially suitable for the construction of wooden decking. Thermowood ash is highly resistant to mold with exceptional durability, incomparable stability and a beautiful rich color.

DESCRIPTION:
Thermo ash is produced at a temperature of 180 - 212 ° C by a computer-controlled method in a special furnace, where thermo treatment takes place. This process uses only heat and steam. This heat treatment process, turns every fiber down to the core. Heat-treated ash has an exotic brown colour. Our Select grading means that it is a choice quality of wood and visually excellent workmanship. The double endless joint on the cross side of the boards allows for easy and quick installation with a locked double joint and minimal pruning, or significant material savings. The material is supplied in bundles wrapped in foil.

Ecology:
No chemicals are used in the individual processes.

Resistance:
Heat treatment increases the resistance of wood to weather conditions, prevents rotting and fungal infestation.

Dimensional stability:
The susceptibility of the wood to deformation or swelling and subsequent shrinkage is reduced by up to 60 %. Humidity fluctuations are essentially stopped due to the heat treatment.

Wood density: approx. 660kg / m3

Paint and color:
If you decide to treat the thermally modified wood on your deckingwith a coating to preserve the wood without the typical grey patina that shows up on the wood without treatment approx. 1 year after exposure to the weather, we recommend using OSMO Terrace Oil No. 010 Thermo Wood Oil. OSMO Decking Oil is a coating based on natural vegetable oils and waxes and thanks to the use of these raw materials, it is a completely non-toxic wood coating. The pigments contained in this coating will change the original color of Thermo ash, the shade will be even more emphasized and the wood will be additionally protected from UV rays, which have the greatest influence on the graying of wood.
