Teak has a narrow, light yellow-brown sapwood and a dark golden brown heartwood that darkens to a medium or dark brown in contact with air. Teak has a more vibrant texture, a wider range of colours and more varied structure. It also has high firmness and durability. It is stable in changing atmospheric conditions and has a nice colourful decorative appearance.
