The Ipe wood is light to dark chocolate brown, occasionally changing the colour to olive brown. The colour differences between different boards are natural and common.
Ipe wood is generally considered to be firm and very hard. The wood fibring is straight, but also spiral-laid, which can sometimes make it more difficult to work with, especially because of its irregular texture (changing from fine to medium).
Ipe is one of the hardest woods in the world. It is very durable in every aspect and after process of airdrying very stable.
Due to its high density and the extremely high content of oils in the wood, it has a long lifespan.
Wood density: approx. 1200 kg/m3
Air-dry at: 20 - 22%
Recommended dilatation between boards in installation: 6 - 8 mm
Face side = smooth
