An aluminum support beam offers absolute stability compared to a wooden substructure, regardless of the conditions the frame will be exposed to. Aluminum profiles are dimensionally stable and straight. This eliminates cracks, warping, swelling, and shrinking – all changes that typically occur in wood due to fluctuating climatic conditions.
Thanks to their special shape, the slipping of screws is prevented, and this type of support beam allows both hidden and visible fastening. The method of fastening depends on the type of wood species. Certain exotic woods with high density can only be installed with visible fastening, i.e., using screws from above. If you choose an aluminum profile substructure for your terrace, remember that you must use screws designed specifically for aluminum. We recommend using MEX FLAT ALU self-drilling screws.
