An aluminium substructure joist provides absolute stability under any conditions compared to traditional wooden constructions. Aluminium profiles are dimensionally stable and perfectly straight. They are not affected by cracking, warping, swelling or shrinking – all of which are common with wood due to climatic changes.
The aluminium joist offers virtually unlimited service life and material stability without any dimensional changes over time.
The 20×50 mm profile is particularly practical for low-construction-height projects. Aluminium is also an excellent choice for roof terraces and balconies, where the weight of the material plays an important role.
The method of connection depends on the decking species and profile design.
When using an aluminium substructure for your decking, always ensure you work with screws designed specifically for aluminium. We recommend using self-drilling screws MEX FLAT ALU.
