Siberian larch is one of the most valuable and durable species among coniferous wood species. Its resin repels water as a natural impregnation and protects wood against fungal attack. The Czech larch contains more knots than the Siberian larch. Due to slow growth in cold regions, Siberian larch is slightly harder than European.
